THOUSANDS OF APPEAL LETTERS PRESENTED TO THE PRIME MINSTER

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal expressed his commitment to take effective action to end impunity in Nepal. He made this commitment in a meeting with Amnesty International (AI) Nepal at his office on 1 July.

REGIONAL TRAINING ON HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN FOR YOUTH NETWORK REPRESENTATIVES

Representatives of Youth Networks of AI Nepal empowered with the campaigning techniques by providing opportunity for them to participate in the 2 day workshops. Altogether 3 such regional workshops held in Itahari, Bhairahawa and Banepa in June 2009.

DEMAND DIGNITY CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED IN NEPAL

Amnesty International Nepal, by organizing a public event in Kathmandu on 30 May, launched a new campaign called 'Demand Dignity' in Nepal. Demand Dignity is the campaign that launched by Amnesty International around the globe on 28 May to fight the human rights abuses that drive and deepen poverty. This global campaign is to give a voice to people living in deprivation will empower "prisoners of poverty" as previous campaigns of the organization empowered prisoners of conscience.
